This transfer process will cancel your old service automatically. In fact, I have in the past.....so, many ungrateful people on here...probably committing fraud & really don't qualify for a free phone. Keep complaining people & this program will be taken away from all of us & many of us d O need it.
The service is great, however the phone is not that great. Unfortunately, there's no real science behind this as Assurance no longer publishes what's compatible. So instead of paying for the dump to get rid of them, some genius mind had the idea: Why not give them away to the lower class citizens and control them... I received 2 texts last week that I will be upgraded to 1 GB next month. Time will tell if the phone lasts, but for now, it meets my needs.
My brother got a Moto G5 Plus in a raffle at work, so he gave it to me. For the longest time any pay Lo phone could be used. [email protected]@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@RGHHHHHHH I'm sorry to hear about your super frustrating experience! Even though I mentioned that "IT STATES ON THEIR FREAKING WEBSITE" that the Hydro Reach is one of the other approved phone models. Given how many people are reporting issues with various Lifeline services, I actually recently created a new page discussing your options for escalating your complaints. You can also scroll down and describe your personal story there as well!
However, since pay Lo was discontinued, it seems to be somewhat inconsistent in terms of what works and what doesn't. So what did they say when you told them that the Hydro Reach was listed on their site as a compatible phone? Lifeline Complaints Leave Assurance Wireless and go to Access Wireless.
I still recommend looking up the old pay Lo phones, finding a couple that they want, then calling Assurance to verify that it's compatible before purchasing. Is there a list of compatible phones with Assurance Wireless? The phone is not working properly and I miss important texts. Is it that the one you got was not compatible with their network (ex. Tried online to get it activated on my AW services. They have better phones so you can better enjoy your free phone, text and data plan!
Unfortunately, however, the only way to really know is to call and ask. But if I can't get this phone switched, I am LEAVING ASSURANCE WIRELESS FOR GOOD! Like someone else stated, just because we can't afford to pay tons for phone services, does not mean we should be dealt with dinosaur cell phones that totally suck so bad that it's more of a pain in the behind to try and use them, than it would be to end up paying for a better phone and forking out the money we can't afford for decent services... Hey, it makes/accepts calls, texts, and has some data, although I have little need for that.
For those who want to find out what's compatible prior to actually purchasing a new phone, I recommend talking to at least 2-3 different customer service reps to check for consistent responses! The online swap feature did not work, but since I had been emailing a customer service rep previously about the other phone, I sent an email and within a few hours, AW replied and activated the ZTE.
All you people out there whining about the fact that you can't get some kind of upgraded, new phone should STFU and be happy that you live in a country that can actually provide you with a phone.
And if you are complaining so much about your phone, then you probably shouldn't even be on the program.
I just signed a lease for a year at 00 a month because I THOUGHT I had a job to go back to.
I am now totally destitute trying to get some help from the State (Massachusetts) and the Government.
With all the crap Assurance gives almost everyone, who can we complain to about them! It really is annoying how inconsistent they are with respect to what phones are compatible.
